“The JW Marriott brand really captures the soul of my grandfather in so many respects because it is a brand based around balance and wellness,” says David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, Marriott International, Inc. and J. Willard Marriott’s grandson. “Even though my grandfather was a workaholic, he still found time in his life to take care of himself.”

Putting pen to paper was a source of strength and focus that helped our founder lead with purpose. “One of the things my grandfather liked to do was write in his journal,” says Debbie Marriott Harrison, Director of Marriott International, Inc. and J.
